GRAVITY BIN MODEL GD1500

Durapod bins are made to meet the highest Food Grade standards to comply with NSF/ANSI 2 certification requirements.

Frequency of Cleaning – How frequently you disassemble and thoroughly clean the bins will depend on current requirements set by the local jurisdiction, your Company cleaning policies, and the nature of the product in the bin. Some local authorities may require that the bin fronts, spouts and lids be wiped with an antibacterial throughout the day. Consult your local jurisdiction as to their recommendations/requirements. Sticky product residue on the sides of the bins may necessitate more frequent and thorough washing of the bin.

At a minimum we recommend wiping the front of the bin, the spout and the lid on a daily basis with a mild cleaning solution using a soft cloth to remove fingerprints.

It is also important to remember to dust the inside of the spout on the gravity bins. A sheepskin style duster with a handle is the best option for accomplishing this task.

GD1500 Pull-Down Gravity Bin Cleaning Process

To remove from shelf, lift the front of the bin up by placing one hand behind the Nozzle with your other hand on top front of the lid. Pull the bin down on the pulldown arm. Once down, lock the bin in the lowered position by turning the RED hook so it locks into the hole in the arm.

  1. Remove the Bin from the base by

    a. Turning the 2 white knobs in an outward motion
    b. Pull the spring-loaded black knob outward to release from the metal arm which will allow you to remove the bin from the arm. Place the bin on a flat surface.

  1. Disassemble the bin by following the Durapod GD1500 Gravity Bin Dismantling & Assembly Instructions.
  2. Durapod Bins are manufactured from BPA FREE Co-polyester (does not include bases), being more scratch resistant and with a higher heat resistance than polycarbonate or other less robust materials. Co-polyester has been tested and proved safe at 185° Fahrenheit / 85° Celsius using approved detergents & sanitizers, with no evidence of cracking or crazing for up to 500 dishwashing cycles. However, using the dish machine may adversely affect the appearance of the bin after repeated washings. Our recommendation is to wash the bin in warm water with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Use of caustic cleaning solutions and/or scouring pads will irreparably damage the units and void the warranty.
  3. Once cleaned and dried, reassemble the bin by performing the steps shown on the Durapod GD1500 Gravity Bin Dismantling and Assembly Instructions in reverse order.
  4. Remount on the pull-down arm by locating and turning the two white knobs and re-engaging the black spring-loaded knob. Be sure to unlock the RED locking hook from the hole in the pull-down arm before lifting the bin on the arm.

Many Durapod customers set up a bin rotation schedule to ensure that all bins are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. Keeping a few extra bins on hand will allow you to rotate the bins without negatively impacting the number of SKU’s available to your customers while bins are being cleaned.
